• Iridium complex-based phosphorescent and electrochemiluminescent dual sensors enabled selective detection of GSH. Reduction pdo to phen(OH) 2 upon reaction with GSH triggered PL turn-on ECL turn-off response. Sensing mechanisms were elucidated by DFT calculations cyclic voltammetry.
